[Living in Korea] How to order Food (Delivery Service) & Using Mobile App for Delivery

[How to order Food (Delivery Service) & Using Mobile App for Delivery]

I don't really know how Korean Traditional Delivery Service has been developed.

Anyway, Korea is well known as Nice Delivery Service. Actually, most of the korean people are not satisfy with the Service Quality. But, they believe the speed of the delivery is the world best level.

As long as you are reading this article, you ought be a beginner in Korean Language. So, I don't think you can order food by phone call. So, I recommend you to use Delivery Mobile Apps.

[Recommended Application : 요기요 (Yogiyo)]

My wife is using this application. This has web version also. So, you can search it on Naver (Korean Portal site which is famous in Korea) or Google easily.

Actually, there are several Apps. So, you can find the others also.

Other Apps : 배달의 민족 (Baemin), 배달통 (Bdtong)

 <Web Page : Yogiyo>

Most of the people are using the Mobile App instead of the Web.

How to use it?

 - If you can read Korean : I recommend you to use App (Mobile).

<Location Setting>

  1) You should choose where you are. Or you can insert the name of your town in Korea (You'd better to input the name of the town and city both to make the location accurate on search. If you use GPS in your Mobile, you can set your location more easily.

<Several kind of food categories>

  2) After setting the location, you can choose what kind of food you want. For Yogiyo, there are Fried Chicken, Chinese Food, Pizza & Western Food, Korean Food, etc.

<You can check several Restaurants near your place>

3) After chooseing the category you want, you should choose one restaurant you want. You can read the reviews of the others and compare the scores which have been made by the people has tasted the restaurants. I recommend you to choose the one which has the highest score.

4) And then, you can choose the Menu. You can check the prices. Unfortunately, there are no images of the foods. You should depend on Googling to guess what kind of the food is.

5) You can pay by credit card on the App. But, it is a little bit annoy process for you. So, I recommend you to pay for it on the spot (Your House). '현장결제' means 'Paying on the spot'. '신용카드' means 'Credit card'. And '현금결제' means 'Paying by Cash'.

- If you do not know the Korean Language : I recommend you to use Web site (https://www.yogiyo.co.kr)

* The process of the order is same as App (Mobile above). The only difference is to copy the Korean Script (The App version of 'Yogiyo' doesn't allow this fuctoion for now unfortunately). With dragging and copying the script, you can translate it on Google Translate or something similar site)
